About the Position

The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for the position of Building Maintenance Foreman II to direct and manage a staff of six (6) employees responsible for maintaining all of the Village’s facilities. As Foreman, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance routines and capital project planning at the Village Hall, the Police Station, four (4) Fire Stations, the Senior Center, the Public Works Facility, two (2) train stations, and a Historical Campus. The Foreman will supervise and participate in the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of facilities, including electrical systems, life-safety systems, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and general building upkeep.  

 

The Foreman will secure and manage Village contractors and research best prices for purchasing from vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors. As Foreman, knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment used in the calibration and repair of chillers, control systems, refrigeration systems, air quality, electrical systems, boilers, fire suppression systems, and security alarm systems is preferred. The Foreman must have experience reading complex blueprints and electronic diagrams, and is also responsible for preparing, administering and monitoring the unit’s budget.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma and five years of experience working in the building maintenance field, with at least two years of lead or supervisory experience in large scale building management or a related field. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain in six months is required. The Building Maintenance Foreman must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies and snow and ice control operations as required.

 

The salary range for this position is $92,369 – $124,699 DOQ and includes a diverse and competitive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan. This position is open until filled.
